County Department of Building Inspection Forms

The links below provide access to application forms for various types of permits from the Washington County Department of Building Inspection. A brief description of the use of each form is also provided.

Application for Building/Electrical Permit – To be completed by property owners or contractors desiring to obtain Building Permit or Electrical Permit for construction and/or renovation of single-family and multi-family residential housing; commercial, industrial and/or institutional buildings and structures, including location/relocation or renovation of manufactured housing units (mobile homes).

Application for Land-Disturbing Permit – To be completed by property owners or contractors desiring grade, fill, excavate or otherwise disturb more than 10,000 square feet of land as part of construction or site-preparation activities (not required for single-family residential housing construction or location of manufactured housing units). Section 54.1-1111 Affadavit Form – To be completed by unlicensed persons desiring to act as their own contractor for the purposes of obtaining a Building Permit or Electrical Permit. (Note: Consultation with County Building Official is strongly recommended before attempting construction-related work as permitted pursuant to Sec. 54.1-1111 of the 1950 Code of Virginia.)
